The medal is engraved on the back: "warmest wishes", as well as on the front: "I bring happiness".

Its beautiful story:
“The New Year's meal was historically the occasion to give New Year's gifts. This tradition comes from ancient Rome, at the time of the reign of King Tatius Sabinus, King of the Sabines, who received a sacred wood from the goddess Strenia as a pledge auspicious for the year to come.This exchange then spread to the whole of Rome, and little by little, verbena wood was replaced by coins and medals.
These presents were exchanges of good omen for the coming year, and pledges of friendship between Romans.
This medal is signed by Roger Bezombes, French painter, engraver and sculptor. A student of fine arts, he befriended Albert Camus during a trip to Morocco. He was particularly recognized for the range of his talents. We then made it go up as a pendant."
